But, it is not suitable for children below 12 years old or children with flu or chickenpox. Since bismuth subsalicylate is an antacid, you should avoid taking this medicine if your body is intolerant or allergic to it. 

On the other hand, antihistamines relieve nausea and vomiting which cause by motion sickness. Antihistamines work by interfering with the motion sensors in the inner ear and disrupt the signals to the area in the brain responsible for vomiting.

Avoid this anti nausea medicine if you have heart disease and or high blood pressure, respiratory issues, or thyroid problems. Antihistamines may cause drowsiness, so you can take this kind of medicine which has non-drowsy formula if it gives you concern.

1. Ginger

Even though ginger is herbal and has minimum side effects, you need to limit ginger intake in a day. Most studies suggest 0.5 to 0.15 grams of dried ginger root per day is good enough even for pregnant women. 

2. Lemon

The next home remedy for the treatment of nausea is by using a slice of lemon. The citrusy smells from freshly sliced lemon help reduce nausea in pregnant women.

There is a study that shows, pregnant women who inhale lemon essential oil as nausea relief can reduce nausea up to 9% lower than those who inhale almond essential oil.

If you are planning to use fresh lemon, just simply scratching its peel to evaporate its essential oil into the air. 

3. Peppermint Aromatherapy

The next home remedies for nausea are peppermint leaves and honey. The menthol in mint can be helpful in relaxing the tight stomach muscles accompanying nausea, which reduces the queasiness. 

To get the benefit of the peppermint, take a cup of hot water and mix it with a teaspoon of dried peppermint leaves. Boil it for about 5 minutes. Then, add a teaspoon of honey and mix it thoroughly. You can have this herb tea a couple of times a day.

The study has proven that using an inhaler containing peppermint oil at the onset of nausea can lower nausea up to 44%. So, you may take this method if you are experiencing the feelings of nausea.

4. Control Your Breathing

Along with inhaling peppermint aromatherapy, taking a slow and deep breath in the middle of t can also help reduce nausea.

There is a breathing pattern which effective as anti nausea, just inhale through their nose to a count of three, hold the breath in a count of three, then exhale to a count of three.
