Step 1. Before you thread your sewing machine, make sure the power switch is in the off position. If the machine remains on, you could injure your fingers.

Step 2. You have to turn the wheel manually because the machine is off. To bring the needle upwards, turn the wheel on the right side of your sewing machine clockwise. Then stop turning when the needle is already in the highest position.

Step 3. After that, place the level next to the needle. Then, bring the level upwards to get the presser foot. With this presser foot position, it will easier to thread the machine.

Step 4. If you want to do horizontal threading, locate the spool of thread on the spool pin. Then slide the spool pin holder over the rim spool. For vertical threading, you have to raise the spool pin and locate felt and thread onto the spool pin. 

Step 5. Allow thread to pass through the lower slot and then through the upper slot. Then, lead the thread over and around to the right. Then pull it.

Step 6. Leading the thread to the right and under the guide, then inserting it from the bottom and over the second guide.

Step 7. Hold the thread ends into the upper thread guide and lead it down and around the tension mechanism.

Step 8. After that, guide the thread down into the threading channel. Then, pull the thread down and through the thread guide above the needle.

Step 3. After that, put the bobbin on the bobbin winder shaft. The spring on the shaft must be slide into the bobbin groove when you turn the bobbin clockwise. 

Step 4. Then slide the shaft to the right and it will click into place.

Step 5. If you use a Brother sewing machine with a fast bobbin-winding system, hold the end of the spool thread with your left hand and right hand. Then wrap the end of the thread clockwise around the bobbin.

Step 6. While for Brother sewing machines without fast bobbin-winding, place the end of the thread into one of the bobbin holes. Turn off the sewing machine and press the start button or foot pedal. 

Step 7. For all sewing machines, clip the remaining thread and slide the bobbin winding pin back to the left. Then, remove the bobbin.
