A voluminous bow is a great way to make your gift pop. If you want to go beyond solid-colored, store-bought gift bows, try making your own with patterned ribbon! We’ll show you how to wrap a Christmas present with a bow in six easy steps below!

Step 1: Measure the width of the bow you want, leaving the ribbon on the spool if you're not sure how many layers you want.

Step 2: Fold the length inwards in step two. Fold until you've reached the optimal number of loops (one-fold equals one loop). Cut the ribbon at the top when you're done. You'll now have a single large ring.

Step 3: Join the two ends of the ring (along with the loose end of the ribbon) in the top middle.

Step 4: Cut notches in the ribbon's middle. You could cut around one-third of the way in on both the left and right ends.

Step 5: Secure the floral wire by threading it through the cuts and twisting it firmly.

Step 6: To complete your bow, pull and twist each loop.

Below is a simple method on how to wrap a Christmas present with step-by-step instructions!

You will need:

  • Wrapping paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • A bow or ribbon

Instructions:

Step 1: Determine how much paper you'll need. It's a good idea to turn one side of the paper over and duplicate the same thing on the other. Do remember that having too much paper is preferable to having too little.

Step 2: Relax and enjoy the smooth slide of the scissors. Trim away any excess if necessary.

Step 3: Turn the package over so the paper and tape seams are at the bottom. Place a piece of tape in the centre of the paper and fold it over tightly. Rep on the opposite page.

Step 4: Fold the paper down over the box's corners. Make sharp creases on the paper's parallel sides.

Step 5: Fold the creased edge over the package and loop it around it. Tape it down. Rep on the opposite page. It's similar to folding a paper plane.

Step 6: Glue the triangle tail to the inside of the box. To make it look like a tidy, sharp triangle, you will need to fold or tuck some material. It will eventually resemble an envelope style. Steps 4-6 can now be repeated on the other side of the box.

Step 7: Top off the gift wrapping with a bow or tie. Viola! Your gift is wrapped perfectly.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to wrap a Christmas present. Follow these instructions, and in no time, you’ll be wrapping presents like a pro!

You will need:

  • Gift
  • M&S Wrapping Paper
  • Bow &/or Ribbon &/or Tag
  • Double-sided sticky tape
  • Scissors

Instructions:

Step 1: First, cover your circular gift lengthwise in your wrapping paper, leaving around 1-2cm of overlap. After that, move the edge of your wrapping paper to the center of your circle. It's difficult to say, but watch the video to see how it's handled! Cut the wrapping paper. Just don't cut too many, so you'll need to protect the center as well. If you've completed both the top and bottom, you're about to begin wrapping.

Step 2: Wrap the circular present and tie it to the other end with double-sided sticky tape where the paper overlaps. Be sure to tape just where the gift's body is so you can pleat and free up the ends if necessary.

Step 3: Fold the wrapping paper down, starting at the open cut. Then, starting an inch down, fold the paper in half to make a pleat. Try to fold the pleats so that they're just about the same height for a tidy finish. The last couple of pleats are particularly difficult. You may either fold it in half or tuck the last pleat under the first.

Step 4: To complete the desired look, simply add a bow or ribbon of your choosing, as well as a cool gift tag.
