1. How to Cancel Xbox Live Subscription on Your Computer

Before you cancel your Xbox Live subscription, you have to make sure that you really want to cancel your account. Although canceling your subscription will not affect your Gamertag, saved files, and achievements.

But instead, you will lose access to Games with Gold Games. In order for you to be able to play them again, you should restore your Xbox Live subscription. So, how to cancel Xbox Live subscription? You can follow the instructions below to do that.

Step 1. On your computer web browser, go to account.microsoft.com and sign in using your Microsoft account.

Step 2. Next, select the ‘Services & subscriptions’ menu on top of the screen and you will be directed to the services & subscription page.

Step 3. After that, find the subscription that you want to cancel, in this case, Xbox Live. Choose the ‘Xbox Live Gold’ menu and select the ‘Manage’ button.

Step 4. Next, select the “Update or cancel subscription’ menu on the right-hand corner of the screen. A pop-up window will appear and choose the ‘Cancel subscription’ option.

Step 5. Lastly, click the 'Confirm Cancellation' to finalize the process.

2. How to Cancel Xbox Live on Xbox One Console

Besides canceling your Xbox Live subscription from a PC, you can also cancel your subscription from the Xbox One Console. So, how to cancel an Xbox Live subscription on Xbox One console? Here are the steps that you can follow to do it.

Step 1. On the home screen, press the home button on a pop-up window will appear.

Step 2. On the menu bar, go all to way to the left until the ‘System’ menu. Click it open and scroll down to the ‘Settings’ menu.

Step 3. Open the ‘Settings’ menu and a ‘General’ window will appear. On the left menu bar, go down to the ‘Account’ option.

Step 4. Open the ‘Account’ option and an ‘Account’ window will open. There are several options that are shown, now choose the ‘Subscriptions’ option and click to open.

Step 5. The ‘Subscriptions’ window will show you the subscriptions that are currently active. 

Step 6. Choose the ‘Xbox Live Gold’ box and click to open. Next, choose the ‘View and manage subscription’ button and click to open.

Step 7. After that, choose the ‘Manage’ button on the right and click, you will be directed to a new window.

Step 8. Choose the ‘Cancel subscription’ button on the right. A pop-up window will appear and if you are sure about the cancellation, then you have to press the ‘Confirm Cancellation’ button.

If you are not sure about canceling your subscription yet, you can choose to turn off the recurring billing instead. If you turn off the recurring billing, your subscription will be canceled on the date shown and you won’t be billed in the future. 

If there is no option to cancel, it could be because there’s a past due to the charge on one of your subscriptions. You have to pay for the subscription first in order for you to be able to cancel your Xbox Live subscription.

If there’s no past due to charge subscription but there’s still no option to cancel, you might need to check whether or not you signed in to the right account. 

You may choose to get a refund if you purchased your subscription within 30 days. Select the ‘Cancel immediately and get a refund’ button and ‘Cancel subscription’.
