Meanwhile, if you’re cooking with a rice cooker, it will need about 15 minutes. And if you’re cooking the white basmati rice in an Instant Pot, you will need about 6 to 8 minutes with 10 minutes of Natural Release.

Step 1. Wash 1 cup of basmati rice and rice at least twice to remove the excess starch. Then, drain the water.

Step 2. Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot and add the rice.

Step 3. Close the lid of the Instant Pot and turn from Venting Knob to Sealing Position.

Step 4. Cook the basmati rice at a High-Pressure setting for about 6 minutes and an additional 10 minutes Natural Release.

Step 5. Once the basmati rice is done cooking, carefully open the lid of the Instant Pot and fluff the rice with a spatula.
