- Kosher salt
Step 1. Rinse and sort the beans under the cool water. Then, soak it in a large container with enough water overnight. Drain the beans the next morning before you cook it. Set aside.
Step 2. In a large pot, add the bacon, onion, black pepper, and garlic powder over medium heat. Let it cooked until the onion getting translucent and softened, it may take 10 minutes.

- 2 cups black-eyed peas dry
- 8 oz bacon chopped into bits
- 1 cup white onions diced

- 1 bay leaf

Step 1. Rinse the peas thoroughly under the cool water and take out some bad peas. Then, place the clean peas in a bowl and cover it with water. Soaked the peas for at least 6 hours up to overnight.
