Ingredients

  • 360-gram flour
  • 1 ½ cups warm sugar
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

Step 1. In a mixing bowl, pour in the flour.

Step 2. Mix salt, sugar, 2 tablespoons of oil, and ½ cup of water in a different bowl. Stir until dissolved.

Step 3. Add the mixture into the flour and combine well using a spatula.

Step 4. Now use your hand to knead the dough for up to 10 minutes. You can add more flour if you think it's too sticky. Add more 2 tablespoons of oil in. Knead until the dough soft.

Step 5. Cover the dough using plastic wrap and let stand for 40 minutes.

Step 6. Open the wrap after 40 minutes. Then, divide the dough into 10 parts with equal size.

Step 7. Prepare a flat surface and sprinkle with some flour to prevent the dough sticks on it.

Step 8. Take one of the dough and use a rolling pin to roll the dough into circles.

Ingredients

  • 120gram Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Oil to fry

Instructions

Step 1. In a bowl, pour flour and add water in. Mix well using a spatula. Then cover using plastic wrap and let rest for 30 minutes.

Step 2. Open the wrap and add salt to the dough. Gently knead the dough for 2 minutes. Cover it again and let rest for another 30 minutes.

Step 3. Knead the dough on a flour-dusted surface and divide it into 6 parts. Take one of the dough and use a rolling pin to roll the dough into circles.

Step 4. Grease using oil on the top of the shaped dough. Roll inward to shape it like a coil. Press down using your palm until it flattens.

Step 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to the remaining dough. Now roll each of the shaped doughs to form circular shapes with a rolling pin.

Step 6. Now fry each of the chapati sides for 10 seconds until bubbles form on top.

Step 7. Flip to another side and fry for another 30 seconds. Press the top to make the chapati fluff up. Flip again and then press on top. Repeat the same step to the remaining dough.

Step 8. Arrange the cooked chapati in a bowl with a cotton towel. Cover with another towel so it will stay soft longer while cooking the rest of the dough.

3. Almond Flour Chapati Recipe

Ingredients

  • 180-gram Almond Flour
  • 3 cups Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Gluten-free baking powder
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

Step 1. Prepare all of the ingredients and prepare your oven by preheating to 375 °F.

Step 2. In a large bowl, mix together greek yogurt and mozzarella. Microwave for about 3 minutes. Stir every 30 seconds.

Step 3. In a medium bowl, pour the almond flour and add baking powder. Crack eggs and mix in.

Step 4. Now, lift the cheese mix from the microwave. Immediately pour in the flour mix to the cheese while still hot.

Step 5. Use your hand to knead the dough. Form into a ball. You can add more flour if you think it's too sticky.

Step 6. Cover the dough using plastic wrap and chill into the refrigerator for 15 minutes or more.

Step 7. Cut the dough into 6 parts. Take one of the dough and use a rolling pin to roll the dough into circles. Grease using oil on the top of the shaped dough. Roll inward to shape it like a coil. Press down using your palm until it flattens. Repeat to the remaining dough. Roll each of the shaped doughs to form circular shapes with a rolling pin.

Step 8. Prepare a baking dish and line with parchment paper on it. Bake on the prepared oven for 10 minutes or until the sides turn golden brown. If you see any bubble form, you can pop it using a fork.

Step 9. While waiting for the baking, whisk together garlic powder, parsley, and melted butter. Grease over the naan. Return to the oven for over 2 minutes more.
