  • 8 ounces (weight) sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup diced yellow bell pepper
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup frozen green peas
  • 1/4 cup of jarred diced pimientos
  • 2 1/2 cups or more of chicken stock
  • 1 cup whole milk    
  • salt and pepper to taste       

Instructions

Step 1. Prepare all of the ingredients and heat butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.

Step 2. Add the mushrooms and bell pepper in. Cook and stir occasionally until tender.

Step 3. Remove the mushrooms from the heat and place them on a bowl. Set aside.

Step 4. Set the heat to medium-low. Then, pour the remaining butter to the pan.

Step 5. Whisk in flour and garlic powder in. Add salt and pepper. Stir constantly until smooth for about 1 minute.

Step 6. Now, pour and whisk the milk and chicken stock in. Bring it to simmer for about 5 minutes. Stir constantly until it thickens. Whisk in a little bit of chicken stock if the flour mixture gets too thick.
