Black Rock State Park Campground features 96 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs in a jungle location, within walking distance of the beach and swimming pond. Besides, cabins are available for rent. Each campsite also features a fire ring and picnic table.
The campground is usually open late May through Labor Day in September. Facilities include flush toilets, drinking water, hot water showers and a landfill. In addition, there is also a food concession, a picnic area, and a camping shop.
Firewood and ice are also available at the camp office. The most favorite campsites of Black Rock State Park for most people are 48, 49, 73, and 74.

Black Rock is a designated Trout Park, therefore, one of the park's main activities is river and pond fishing. Other activities include picnics, hiking, field sports, and swimming.
The very good hiking trail is available on the Mattatuck Trail, from the Gray Stone section in Waterbury to the Wigwam Reservoir in Morris. This trail provides a beautiful view of the Naugatuck Valley, highlighting the Black Rock.
There are many trails, where one can see the Black Stone Lake, the dense forest, the Black Stone Pond, and the meadow. The hikes are able to take anywhere from 30 minutes to a full day.
