Back in the days, the land where the Natchez Trace State Park took place is a former farming land for the local resident but no longer used due to erosion. Under the leadership of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal Program, the land was created into a wonderful state park by empowering many people such as the Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration that established some of the building which still keeps its place until nowadays.

The hiking trails on the Natchez Trace State Park has become one of the reasons for the outdoor adventure enthusiast exploring this state park every year. The hiking trails were stretch in many kinds of difficulty levels and lengths started from 1.5 miles up to 4.5 miles away. Along the trails, you will be able to discover the real beauty of the forest and fields which spread along the lakeshores and streams. On the other hand, if you are enjoying riding on a horse as the way you become one with nature, there are 250 miles of trails which always giving you a warm welcome when the season is allowed you to do.

Featured with the museum, you will also able to enrich your knowledge about the history and learn about nature in the Natchez Trace State Park. 

If you are enjoying the moment of waiting to caught fish with the hook, you may arrange a schedule to explore this state park through fishing. Once you come to the state park area, you will find four lakes to choose such as Cub Lake, Pin Oak Lake, Maple Creek Lake, and Brown's Creek Lake.

While exploring the Natchez Trace State Park in a day does not enough, then you need to stay at least overnight at one of the cabins offered in the area. There are 32 lakeside rustic cabins located near Pin Oak Lake and Brown's Creek Lake that ready to be booked throughout the year. 

Both Deluxe and Standard cabins are offering the best hospitality in the middle of the rustic forest. Deluxe cabin is for you who looking for a bin which can accommodate up to six people with has two queen beds at the downstairs and one queen bed at the upstairs. Nestled on Pin Oak Lake, the deluxe cabin has a well-equipped kitchen and warm fireplace which available from October through March.

As for the standard cabin, there are 17 cabins are ready to booked and can accommodate up to 2 people with one queen bed. Also having a well-equipped kitchen, the standard cabins also has a grill, picnic table, and full modern bathrooms.

You are allowed to bring your four-legged buddy to stay at the cabin but only if you make it to book the 601 and 610 cabins.

Just in case staying overnight at the cabin still cannot giving you the feeling to become one with nature, then, pitch a tent and sleeping under the shining stars is worth trying. There is a camping cabin which becomes one of the options if you do not bring your tent but still willing to stay in front of Pin Oak Lake. This camping cabin has air conditioning, a picnic table, BBQ grill, lantern holder, bunk beds for 4 people, and it is pet-friendly. 

Has 23 sites and 1 bathhouse to offer, the Cub Lake Campground also offering water hookups, and some of them featured 20, 30-amp electric. There are also RV sites which only available for Cam Car which under 25 feet and this campground is only open seasonally.

Pin Oak Campground has 77 sites and 2 bathhouses and if you bring our camper van, then staying in this campground is strongly recommended since it has 50 amp electric and mostly all year round.
