Forest Dunes Golf Courses

Forest Dunes offers some golf courses for your exciting game, and two of the most renowned courses are The Forest Dunes Course and The Loop.

Nestled on 500 acres of heavily wooded land within the Huron National Forest, The Forest Dunes Course is a parkland-style classic with modern touches designed by the British Open Champion Tom Weiskopf. The course features some intriguing challenges including wide-open meadows, hardwoods, century-old red and jack pines, rugged native dunes, scruffy sand areas, and water features.

The front nine at Forest Dunes highlights parkland-style holes backdropped with the meandering red and jack pines, with elaborate bunkering and sandy waste areas on the sidelines. On the other hand, the back nine brings to mind Pine Valley with exposed rugged native sand areas and scruffy underbrush crossing and bordering fairways and greens.

Challenge yourself with the thrills of the finishing holes—beginning with the par-three 16th, which measures over 200 yards and requires a challenging carry over a rugged dune area.

Forest Dunes The Loop is an exceptional, “reversible" golf course designed by renowned golf course architect Tom Doak and the team. Golfers playing The Loop head out on the course's Black routing in a clockwise rotation one day. The next, everyone turns around and plays the Red routing in a counter-clockwise manner.

The Loop offers 18 greens that are approached from different directions. The course takes guests back to the simple origins of golf, designed with only the subtle natural changes in topography to shape the holes.

Aside from The Forest Dunes and The Loop, the HillTop Putting Course is a popular amenity at Forest Dunes Resort. Located just west of the practice facility, The HillTop is nearly 2-acres with an 18-hole course routed throughout the undulating terrain. There is no cost to play the HillTop and tee times are not required, so just come as you are and have fun with your friends!

Or, you can instead opt for the newly added golf course: the short course. This course is situated on a peaceful, rolling bulge of land positioned perfectly between The Loop and Forest Dunes courses and near the spacious clubhouse, pavilion, practice area, and massive HillTop Putting Course.

The short course allows golfers of all ages and skill levels to experience the fun, strategic holes measuring between 50 and 155 yards.
