Jackson Lake State Park provides wonderful recreational chances on the Great Plains. The 2,700-acre Jackson Reservoir is the park's hub, situated in the northeast corner of the state. This is another oasis in the high desert of Northeast Colorado. Also, it is a popular state park to visit in the summer.
The 2,700 acres lake is open for boating and fishing. An array of lakeside campsites is available, as well as picnic areas and multitude of trails. In addition, there is a visitor center open daily with exhibitions and a small gift shop.

Lake Jackson coastline. Campsites are able to accommodate tents,
trailers, and RVs. There are 139 sites with electrical connections.
Besides, all campsites have tables, grates, and fire rings. Group tents
are also available.
Camp facilities include drinking water, flush toilets and vault, showers, laundry facilities, and a landfill. In addition, the park has boat trails, a visitor's center, a picnic area, boat ramp, marina, and firewood for sale.

1. Biking
Biking
at Jackson Lake State Park will be a great thing to do with your
family. Ride your bike in the designated trails and park roads as you
enjoy the fresh air and amazing views of the park and the lake as well.
2. Boating
Get
closer with water by doing popular boating activities such as water
skiing, jet skiing, and sailboarding. The Shoreline Marina features boat
rentals, 2,700 surface acre reservoir when full.
3. Camping
It
will be a nice moment to camp at Jackson Lake State Park in which its
campground is open year-round. Sitting down in front of your tents,
sipping your favorite tea as you are gazing at the stars will be the
most wonderful time ever!
4. Fishing
Luckily, fishing is permitted at Jackson Lake State Park! Fly fish, lure, and bait are allowed. When it comes to winter, you can do ice fishing too! Fish species include crappie, catfish, rainbow trout, perch, walleye, saugeye, and wipers.
Northern pikes and big and small-mouthed basses are also present at the
lake. More relaxed fishing and boating can be discovered at Prewitt
Reservoir, about an hour to the east.
5. Hiking
Have an enjoyable hike at a scenic ¼ mile trail at The Prairie Wetland Nature Trail.
6. Geocaching
There
are two geocache sites to discover “5 O’Clock Somewhere” and
“Centennial”. Also, the visitor center boasts GPS coordinates.
7. OHV Riding
An OHV line is open 08.00 AM until sunset, all year round. OHV is not allowed on park trails, campgrounds or local trails.
8. Picnicking
Various
picnic spots are situated around the lake, first come first serve. The
Centennial Group Picnic Area is able to accommodate up to 100 people
and can be booked through the park.
9. Hunting
Hunt for waterfowl, pheasants, highland birds, and archery deer during the season. Special area using a shotgun with birdshot or archery.
