Ranthambore National Park: See the Beauty of Wildlife Closely!

Tripboba.com - Welcome to Ranthambore National Park! This beautiful park is one of the largest and most beautiful national parks located in Northern India. Situated in the Sawai Madhopur district of southeastern Rajasthan, you can reach this place by traveling about 130 km from Jaipur. 

Ranthambore National Park is considered one of the most famous former royal hunting grounds in Maharajas, Jaipur. Now, it’s home to tigers, leopards, and marsh crocodiles, as well as a tourist attraction. This place has drawn many wildlife lovers and photographers from around the world.

After it’s closed temporarily due to the pandemic, now Ranthambore national park has opened again since June 8th, 2020 with COVID-19 guidelines.

There are many things that visitors can do in Ranthambore National Park, such as watching wild animals, bird watching, photography, and many more. However, the most popular activity to do here is joining the safari. 

There are 2 types of safaris that you can sign up for. The first one is Gypsy safari, where you will use a 6 seaters jeep which operates in the morning and evening. This type of safari is perfect if you’re coming with a small group, or interested in a deeper exploration of the national park, as the jeep safari is allowed to visit all 10 eco-tourism zones in Ranthambore. 

The second one is the Canter Safari. This type of safari allows you to explore Ranthambore National Park by a 20-seaters open bus which operates in some of the safari zones. If you’re coming in a big group, then this type of safari is perfect for you! However, Canter safari isn’t available in zone 7-10. 

If you are interested in signing up for the safaris, you can book the tour 90 days in advance of the D-day, although you can also book it last minute. However, this safari is only available between 1st October to 30th June.

The pricing of visiting Ranthambore National Park depends on what package you’re choosing and how long you’re staying! You can choose a half-day package, a full-day package, or more than a day. 

If you’d like to book the safari only, you can pay INR 1500 for a jeep safari per person for Indian nationals and INR 2900 for foreign nationals. For Canter safari, the price is INR 1000/passenger for Indian nationals and INR 2300 for foreign nationals. 

You may also book the special safari which allows you to book the jeep for your group only. Half-day safari would cost INR 33000/jeep for Indian nationals and INR 56000/jeep for foreign nationals. As for full-day safari, the cost would be INR 57000/jeep for Indian nationals and INR 72000 for foreign nationals. 

Ranthambore National Park Hours

Ranthambore National Park is open from October 1st to June 30th, and the park hours vary according to the season. During the winters, the daylight hours are shorter while during the summer, the daylight hours are longer. The entry timings in the park begin a little later during the summers, same case with the exit timings.

The morning safaris started from 7 AM to 10:30 AM, while the evening safaris start from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Here are further details for the safari tours:

1st October to 31st October 

  • Morning time: 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Evening time: 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM

1st November to 31st January 

  • Morning time: 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM
  • Evening time: 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM

1st February to 31st March

  • Morning time: 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Evening time: 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM

1st April to 15th May 

  • Morning time: 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM
  • Evening time: 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM

15th May to 30th June

  • Morning time: 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM
  • Evening time: 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM
