South Higgins Lake State Park has more than 1000-acre of area that is split into two areas, the north, and the south areas. At the north, there is Higgins Lake and to the south is 700 acres of Marl Lake, which contains maple, oak, and pine forests. Usually, the south side can be used for dry outdoor activities, including camping.

Since 1927, South Higgins Lake State Park has been developing their campground facilities. Starting with only 15 campsites, now they have 400 modern hardwood-shade campsites and also mini-cabins for all families and groups.

It is important for you to know that if you have a plan to camp at South Higgins Lake State Park campsite during summer, you should reserve the campsite early because camping becomes so popular at that time.

Camping Rates:

  • Full Hookup: $45 per night

  • 50 AMP: $37 per night

  • 30 AMP: $33 per night

  • 1 Mini Cabin Available for Rental: $52 per night*

  • 2 Shelters Available for Rental: $53 per day*

*Price can change.

Rules:

  • The maximum stay at South Higgins Lake State Park Campground is 14 days

  • A campsite should be occupied every night.

  • Alcohol and marijuana are prohibited at the campsite

  • You can only bring two vehicles.

  • Each campsite only accommodates 6 people, not more.

  • You should check-out at 10 pm.

  • Pets with a 6-foot leash are allowed only at some places, such as two designated pet-friendly swimming areas.

  • Please, do not move the firewoods.

    You can reserve your chosen campsite 6 months before your arrival. Meanwhile, for overnight stays or daytime use shelters can be made up to one year in advance.

    1. Souvenirs

    In the Park Store, there are some mug, glasses, t-shirts, shorts, jackets, sunglasses, hoodies, and some clothes for your activities in South Higgins Lake State Park and of course, perfect merchandise that you can bring back home.

    2. Groceries

    Some picnic necessities, such as grilling equipment, sunscreen and lotions, snacks and cold drinks, donuts, and candies.

    3. Beach Toys

    Having a great moment on the beach with beach toys, like  inflatables, mattresses, floats, squirt guns, frisbees, sand castle tools, swim goggles & masks that you can find in the Park Store.

    4. Bookstore

    If you just need to relax without doing some heavy activities in the park, you can buy some books or magazines in the Park Store as your companion. Also, Park Store is provided with Wi-Fi, so you can choose and read some news or download some e-books during vacation.
