Tims Ford State Park: A Guide to Get an Amazing Camping Experience in Tennessee

As one of the best places for camping, Tims Ford State Park has 152 campsites for anyone to stay overnights, including the Main campground and the Fairview campground, the Paddle-in Island sites, Turkey creek tent, and Evans loop backcountry campsite.

1. Main Campground

Come and stay at one of the 52 RV and tent campsites, including 52 RV and tent campsites. Each site in this campground has provided 30-amp electric, water hookups, but four of them also have sewer hookups.

These campsites can accommodate up to six people, and only one RV and one tent, or two tents that can be installed on each site.

For you who bring your trail, a working dump station is located at the entrance to the campground. There are also two ADA compliant campsites, which are set aside for that reason.

2. Paddle-in Island Sites

Seven paddle-in campsites are available for the paddlers who come to enjoy Tims Ford Lake with their motorless boat. These are primitive campsites, with the seventh is a paddle-in or hike-in backcountry campsite, located on the Evans Loop Trail.

3. Fairview Campground

Fairview Campground is one of the favorite campgrounds by the lake in Tims Ford State Park, which has 82 campsites are at hand. These sites are full-hookup sites with 20, 30, 50-amp electrical service, and 31 sites added with sewer hookups.

Located eight miles away from the main park, sites 1-18 are only open for Season (April - September) on the last Friday of March, and other 63 sites (19-82) are available for daily rental throughout the year.

4. Turkey Creek Tent

To go to these primitive campsites, you should walk about nine miles north of the main park. Each site is limited to two tents and six people.

These sites only provide 20 tents that can give you a sensation of the classic camping without water or electricity on a grassy surface and range from sunny to partial shade.

5. Evans Loop Backcountry Campsite

Like its name, Evans Loop Backcountry Campsite, a primitive campsite, is located on the 6-mile Evans Loop Trail. This backcountry campsite is a hike-in or paddle-in campsite with Leave No Trace regulation.

For the campgrounds, other camping facilities are provided by Tims Ford State Park, like a picnic table and a fire ring with a grill, two heated bathhouses with hot showers and bathrooms, WiFi, and the camp store nearby.

The maximum stay in Main Campground is different, 14 days stay from March to November, and 28 days for December, January, and February.

So, the main campground is open year-round, and you can come whenever you want to stay. Reservation can be done online.

Tims Ford State Park Cabins
