You’re welcome to explore the park's natural and historical resources via 44 miles of trails. Enjoy the Mueller State Park hiking with the trails’ varying difficulty levels, from short, leisurely walks to challenging, full-day hikes. The average Mueller State Park elevation is 9,600 feet. And aside from hiking trails, there are 34 miles designated for horseback riding and 36 miles designated for bicyclists.

Here are some recommended trails you might want to try:

  • Raven Ridge, Red Tail and Lone Eagle Overlook via Outlook Ridge and Geer Pond Trail is a 6.9 kilometer moderately trafficked loop trail that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
  • Cheesman Ranch Trail is a 9.2 kilometer moderately trafficked loop trail that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October. Horses are also able to use this trail.
  • Grouse Mountain Overlook Trail is a 1.6 kilometer lightly trafficked out and back trail that features a great forest setting. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips.
  • Lost Pond Loop is a 4.7 kilometer moderately trafficked loop trail that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
