Located in a bay on the southern side of the Split peninsula, Diocletian's Palace is an ancient palace that was built for the Roman Emperor Diocletian around the 4th century AD and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site which forms about half of the old city of Split. Don't get me wrong with the word “Palace” it uses this place was used as a Diocletian retirement residence.
