Hiroshima's most famous tourist attractions are located in Motomatchi, the downtown. It is situated in the Naka Ward where you can also find iconic landmarks, museums and historical sites like Peace Memorial Park. This park commemorates the bombing of the city with several monuments and facilities. Not far from it, you will find the Hiroshima Castle or popularly known as Crap Castle. It is the first Hiroshima castle built in the 16th century and renovated after the bombing. Besides enjoying the history of Hiroshima, you can also see an amazing view from the top floor of the castle.

The most favorite Shopping areas in Hiroshima are Hondori Shopping District and Kamiyacho Shareo. Hindori is a pedestrian arcade full of large department stores. It is loved by locals and tourists who come to Hiroshima. While near the heart of the city, Kamiyacho Shareo is another paradise for shopaholic. Do not skip to experience shopping in this first underground shopping arcade. It offers about 82 shops from local and international brands and famously tailored for women.

The most famous food from Hiroshima is Okonomiyaki which made in its own style. It is a local dish from only a thin layer of batter combine with egg, cabbage, yakisoba noodles, and oysters, squid, and cheese as the topping. Don't forget to taste the traditional liquor of Hiroshima such as sake.

Hiroshima is not only dedicated as a historical city but also a peaceful city, since the bomb incident in 1945. There are many unique historical sites and can be found even in the middle of the city such as the Itsukushima Shrine and Hiroshima Museum of Art. Many tourist attractions here also represent the history of the atomic bombing.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Visiting Hiroshima is actually good at all times, but the most popular months for visitors are February, March, and July. While there is a limited number of visitors in October due to the Fall season.

It has 24 food stalls under one roof and serving various traditional Japanese food. Another great okonomiyaki restaurant is the Hassei. This most visited restaurant is worth visiting since it has excellent foods and you can the chef preparing okonomiyaki right in front of you at counter seat.

This coffee shop brings the traditional Japanese kissaten cafes in combination with the modern one. Siphon brewed coffee is the best menu and becomes everyone's favorite. Hondori is the best neighborhood located not far from Hiroshima's downtown. It's very popular for fun activities after dark. MAC Bar is a great bar, where you can taste the urban cocktails while listening to great music in a stylish decoration room. If you want to taste incredible wines, do not skip visiting The Shack. It is an American-style bar located near PARCO shopping mall. Your nightlife in Hiroshima will be much happier if you can dance and sing the night away here.

While you explore Hiroshima, head to Miyajima island or well known as Itsukushima Shrine. This spectacular destination becomes the UNESCO World Heritage site and Japan's most important coastal site. From this place, you can enjoy the stunning mountain and sea view. Do not skip to spend your time at Shukkeien Park, the oldest Japanese garden located near Hiroshima station. This provides relax ambiance and breathtaking scenery.
