Located in San Luis Obispo County in California, Morro Bay is a beautiful coastal city in California located along the California State Route 1.

Offering three communities, namely Morro Bay, Cayucos, and Los Osos, Morro Bay is home to several state parks pristine parts, birds and estuaries filled with wildlife.

There are many places to enjoy outdoor and recreational activities such as surfing, beach combing, picnicking, kayaking, playing golf, camping and more.

Morro Bay is also famous for Morro Rock, which is an ancient volcanic mound at the end of Morro Rock Beach and the last in a long-extinct volcano chain.

Located within Morro Bay State Park, the rock stretches 50 hectares at the bottom and the tower is 576 feet above the entrance to Morro Bay and is surrounded by calm lagoons.

Morro Bay State Park has lagoons and natural bay habitats. The most prominent bay landmark is Morro Rock. This park has opportunities for sailing, hiking, bird watching, and fishing. Morro Rock, the State Historic Landmark, was formed about 23 million years ago from a long-extinct volcanic plug. It is a beautiful Northern California Coast with a rough sea environment and sand dunes. Parks and beaches are often used for commercial photography, weddings and festivals.
