SIGHTSEEING

Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex is located in downtown Harrisburg. It was designed by architect Joseph Miller Huston in 1902. This building has a Beaux-Arts style decorative Renaissance theme. Take a look at the exterior, the capitol is 520 feet long and 272 feet tall. The doors are decorated with scenes from the history of Pennsylvania. The entrance consists of two sculptures " Love and Labor: The Unbroken Law and The Burden of Life: The Broken Law" made from Carrara marble from models created by George Grey Barnard.

Cathedral of Saint Patrick is the mother church of the Diocese of Harrisburg and is the seat of its bishop. Cathedral of Saint Patrick was designed with Baroque Revival style with Renaissance Revival, with architect George l. Lovatt, Sr. The exterior of the buildings is covered in granite from North Carolina. The interior has a wainscoting which is covered in oriental marble topped with Connemara marble.

Home 231 is excellent place for good food and drink. The place is quite good to hang-out with your buddies while enjoying their available dishes like fried tomatoes, pierogies, taquitos, and crab cake dinner. There is also a small bar with several varieties of drinks. Dodge City Steakhouse is famous for its amazing steaks. The menu consists of dinner, lunch, breakfast, and Sunday brunch menu including a minibar that serves several varieties of drink especially cocktails.

The National Civil War Museum has several collections of artifacts, manuscripts, documents, photographs, and etc. Come and walk their halls to experience the great things. Seasonal hours of operation: Fall/Winter in October 1- March 31. Monday- saturday in 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday in 12 pm to 5 pm. Holidays in regular business hours. New Year's day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are closed. You can enjoy hands-on science exhibits and fun-filled galleries of all ages including Forces of Nature, KidsPlace, and Carnival of Health.
