SIGHTSEEING

Amarillo Botanical Gardens is truly a nice place to go for sightseeing. This destination offers you greenery space to visit and enjoy your weekend. If you come here in December, you will find an amazing Christmas light wonderland. Besides housing tropical plants and local flora, the garden also has a children's playground with a splash pad. Do not leave the area before visiting Don Harrington Discovery Center located just a few walks from the garden. There are many collections of educational exhibits to see at the museum.

The butterfly garden is great at the end of summer, and the jungle greenhouse is a nice place for the kids to explore.

They always do an awesome job with the lights, music, carolers, and Santa photo shoot.

Don Harrington Discovery Center

If you want to take your children out for some fun activities this is the place.

Everything is interactive, and exhibits change regularly.

There are a few things for babies to do, would like to see some more visual or color and pattern displays that would be attractive to babies.

This place is awesome and the kids would probably spend a week here if they could.

DOWNTOWN

The heart of Amarillo is a central hub for accommodation, shopping center, restaurants, and also attracting destination. You can find a combination of old and new buildings in this area. The closest place to visit is the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum. The main point of this place is its Quarter Horse which is the most favored horses by cowboys in the Southwest. The museum offers plenty of displays dealing with the biology of the Quarter Horse to the horse careers.

Very comprehensive and has many exhibits with interactive stations.

The collection of memorabilia is awesome and there's a great mosaic laid out on the floor of the geneology of the Quarter Horse.

The city of Amarillo has dozens of destinations to do for shopping. It varies from modern malls like Westgate Mall that you can find in downtown. This place has more than 100 mainline stores with a large parking area. The shops cover everything from shoes, clothes, accessories, cosmetics and many more. You may also miss hunting for souvenirs. Head to Wolflin Village where you can discover antique stuff, stylish boutiques, and home decor. You can also stroll the lovely sidewalks or having coffee after shopping.

Amazing place to walk around and browse.

It's very spacious with lots of stores,especially the food court is really nice and offers a wide variety of food.

There are restaurants like pizza, hamburgers, icy cream, many things and you can enjoy just by walking.

There are like the babies can play too.

Amarillo is home to a variety of cuisines from various regions of the United States. You will find typically Texas foods in any city's restaurants. Get a comfortable stop at Roasters Coffee & Tea after exploring the city. This cafe is well known for a variety of coffee beans with excellent taste. It was first opened in 1992 and still becomes coffee lovers' favorite until today. The 806 Coffee + Lounge is another recommended cafe to visit. Not only offers you a huge selection of coffee, but the cafe also has beers and food menus.

Very good selection of coffees and assorted drinks in the cool ambience.

They make a killer dark chocolate coffee drink with Godiva that is a must if you're a dark chocolate fan.

The live music is unique and the food is incredible.

Spend your night at Esquire Jazz Club where you are not only enjoying the drinks but also jazz performances. The club is located in the historical restores Woolworth building in downtown Amarillo. Buckle's Lounge can be another great destination for enjoying the nightlife in the city. You can stop there for cold beers and a weekend karaoke. It's really a fun place to spend the time with your buddies.

This is the coolest place for adults to enjoy good music in a good night atmosphere without raucousness.

The decor and the vibe make it a perfect night.

INTERESTING PLACE

Head Cadillac Ranch and get surprisingly fun activities there. It's a public art installation and sculpture created in 1974. You can spray-paint a create your own graffiti on the cars. Another interesting place to go is the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. The place is where you could find the history of Texas from dinosaurs to modern times. Special exhibits are usually held here.

Cadillac Ranch

Wonderful family put very fun and interesting things around town to enjoy.

This is free to discover and enjoy the artwork left by others or bring some spray paint & create your own.

There is even a retired vet selling spray paint at the front.

A good place to take pictures and for the boys to have fun painting the cars.

Panhandle Plains Historical Museum

Awesome museum with detailed history of the area.

It exhibits the oil industry of the panhandle as well as the fossils and minerals discovered in this ancient land.

The art exhibit is great lots of Texas pieces.

So many local people have donated to this museum to really make it fantastic

INSTAGRAMMABLE SPOT

Located on the campus of Amarillo College, Amarillo Museum of Art is one of the best spots to get instagrammable worthy feeds. The museum displays sculptures for the South East Asia region along with century BC Buddhist and Hindu pieces. There are also paintings from the 17th and 19th centuries. When you want to capture a stunning scenery view, go to Palo Duro Canyon State Park. It is the 2nd largest canyon in the United States. Besides photography, you can try hiking, camping, mountain biking, or horseback riding there.

Amarillo Museum of Art

What an incredible little gem of a museum.

The permanent collection of Asian art is quite nice and the textile exhibit is wonderfully varied and well curated.

The Amarillo Museum of Art has a very nice schedule of exhibitions and lectures on various types of art.

They have children's classes and even a little inspiration studio for kids with mini projects to create.
