There are so many things that await you at Babcock State Park. You can spend your day leisurely and take a look at the beautiful natural setting of the surrounding, having fun and exciting activities around the area of Babcock State Park. Fantastic place to visit. Rock hop or fish in the cold clear water. People were catching golden and rainbow trout! Nice gift shop. Hike to the swinging bridge in about 15 minutes. Long Point Trailhead is the first place that you should visit. Long Point Trail has one of the most beautiful views. If you want pictures of the bridge, it is the best. The end of the trail is pretty nice as you come out into the gorge with cliffs on both sides. It is entirely worth the walk. Easy trail to hike. The route is lined out so you cannot get lost. The only part of the path that is a bit of a challenge is about a quarter of a mile worth when you are about to get to the cliff that looks the bridge. Another place worth visiting is the New River Gorge National River. Quite a unique position to be! This bridge is enormous. Standing underneath it is a neat experience, and the roads around the bridge are pretty fun to drive down. Get out and walk around if you find yourself here. You can find industrial remnants all over the place. Genuinely worth the experience!
Babcock State Park is a heaven for all nature lovers out there. You can do various activities depends on your interest. Glade Creek Grist Mill is a historical place that you can visit. The most beautiful mill in the world and one of our top sites to ever see! There are no words or pictures that can express the beauty of this natural wonder. It is genuinely jaw-dropping beauty on a grand scale. The ride off the main road is short, and there is just the right amount of parking. A gift shop is nearby with restrooms and patio seating. If planning a WV trip, don't miss adding the excellent site. Diamond Point is the next place. Great views, and you can see the Peregrine Falcons here more than other places it seems. It's about half-way along the trail. If you plan on doing the whole course, park on the bottom lot, and walk to the other end with a parking lot, you can walk the road down to your car without a huge hill! The route can be pretty busy most days! Such a beautiful view of a beautiful place! It is about 1.25 miles to the point from the western parking lot, a 180° view of the New River Gorge. A lovely wooded forest opens up to a rhododendron lined path that leads to the point.
Babcock State Park Campground is one of the most popular activities in this park. Beautiful park! The gift shop is neat, and the staff is friendly. The mill is open on the weekends, so you can see it running. They have a staff member inside to tell you its history and show you how it works inside. The mill itself is beautiful in the fall and definitely worth the trip. The earlier you go in the morning, the fewer people there are. The campground is nice. Plenty of picnic areas and playgrounds in the park.
To make your visit an unproblematic one, always follow the park's rules and know what you should or shouldn't before visiting. Keep in mind that there would be no littering done in the park. Avoid leaving fire behind. The park's facility should be at where they should, and no damage is done to it.

Park Office and Gift Shop is a fantastic destination for your gift hunting around Babcock State Park. A great gift shop in Kanawha State Forest, t-shirts, jackets, hats, a selection of toys and snacks, and books relating specifically to flora and fauna of KSF. Nice place to shop for local gifts! Canyon Rim Gifts is another recommended. It is the coolest gift shop that we have ever seen. They have tons of cute gifts, t-shirts, ice cream, fudge, and other neat things. If you are passing through Fayetteville, it is definitely worth stopping by.
