Recommended Things to Do in Carson Beach for a Nice Getaway

Welcome to Carson Beach! This public beach is located in Boston and you can enter it for free. It’s a nice beach where you can just walk along the shoreline and it’s good for dogs as well. There are other attractions too nearby Carson Beach that we picked for you to check out.
The first one is South Boston Bark Park. This beach is located only 7 minutes away by walking via HaborWalk. As obvious as it sounds, South Boston Bark Park is a park dedicated to dogs. So, it’s a perfect place for you to hang out with your beloved dogs and meet with other dog owners. There is a fountain where your dogs can drink water from.
Next place, we recommend you to visit Joe Moakley Park. This park is located just right across the beach, only 2 minutes away by walking. It’s a large space where you can hang out and enjoy the view of the beach, without actually being at the beach.
Not only you can just sit on the benches or walk with your dog here, but you can also explore the park. They have a full stadium, track, field, baseball diamonds, tennis, and basketball court as well.

Carson Beach is generally a laid-back beach where people just spend time chilling under the shade or inside a tent. However, some people also like to swim in the water and finding sea glass. If you plan to swim, we recommend you to go to the southern part of the beach where the water is cleaner. You can also play beach volleyball here.

The best time to visit Carson Beach in Boston is from late May through October when the weather is generally pleasant. Boston is most crowded by tourists in June so you will have to be prepared for the increasing prices.

Other than swimming, Carson Beach is actually not very famous for water sports. However, there is a place where you can rent canoe and kayak, which is Charles River Canoe and Kayak: Cambridge, Kendall Square. Charles River itself is only 9 minutes away from Carson Beach. While you’re kayaking along the river, you can enjoy the view of Boston’s skyline and the Esplanade, as well as other landmarks such as the Zakim Bridge, M.I.T, the Museum of Science, and Boston University.
