Gunnison Beach is well known as the famous nude beach in New Jersey.

It is located in Middletown Township, Monmouth County, but is on federal land which is managed by the National Park Service.

For another breathtaking view, there is Twin Lights State Historic Site/museum as a historical site. Took only 11 mnt from Gunnison Beach.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

For an enjoyable visit, summer weekends are busy at Sandy Hook. When parking areas are filled, the park closes to new traffic until spaces become available. You can avoid traffic and delays by arriving before 10 am or after 2 pm. The park does not close on weekdays as there is always parking available.

At Gunnison beach, it's free as long as the lifeguard is on duty from 10 a.m to 6 p.m. In addition, you can visit Twin Lights State Historic Site/museum. There are several things you might do while visiting Gunnison Beach like biking, boating, and canoe cruises. For biking, there are bike rentals available during peak season as weather permits, you can bring your own bicycle too. Windsurfing and kite-boarding are best on the bay across from Beach Area C. Horseshoe Cove is popular with recreational boaters. Landing on the beach with a motorized boat is prohibited.
