Welcome to Kahalu’u Beach Park! This beautiful beach park which located in Hawaii will amaze you with its top-notch view you can’t get anywhere else. The water is clear and pristine, that’s why this beach is famous for its snorkelling activity. If you’re visiting this beach, it’s most likely that you’re not going to leave without checking out the beautiful underwater creatures.
So, the first activity we would recommend for you to spend your vacation day is snorkelling. You will be able to see the schools of fishes swimming around you, because the fishes here are comfortable around swimmers. Mesmerizing corals could also be seen at the base under the water.
After you snorkel, you can go to Keauhou-Kahalu’u Heritage Corridor, which is only less tan a mile away from the beach park. This is a small park where you can witness the history of Kona itself. The view gets extra pretty in this park when the sun is setting. So, get ready with your camera to capture the scenic place!
Short on money? Well, visiting this beach park still worth your energy because of the view it offers. You can walk along the shoreline, picnicking at the beach, watching sea turtles, and swimming. The beach is somewhat crowded so we wouldn’t recommend you to do activities that requires silence such as reading books here. Instead, you can invite your friends to spend some quality time!
During periods of high surf, surfers may find great waves in the outer area of Kahalu’u Bay. However, swimmers should pay attention to their own safety during these times because the high currents may catch the swimmers, making them unable to go back to the shoreline.
Lifeguards and the fire department suggest that when this happens, swimmers should not swim against the currents and just float offshore beyond the surf until help arrives. Based on their experience, those are the ones who stand the best chance of survival.
The best time to visit Kahalu’u Beach Park in Kona is from November through March, when the skies are generally clear and the chance of rain is low. The peak season for tourism in Hawaii is from late December to early January, and the high season would be from January to March. During these times, products are expensive in Hawaii.
So if you want to save your money, you better go to Hawaii in other months (with probability of bad weather).
