SIGHTSEEING

Cat Rock & Bobs Hill Natural Area is one of the best trails in the park! This 3-mile round trip hike can be enjoyed year-round. Great to be one with nature love had a blast seeing lots of family's lot of couples and single individuals have a great time. This place has great views after a quick, rocky scramble to the top. Another place that you should visit is William Houck. A great park for a short getaway - whether you're taking the family for a picnic by the beautiful lake, hiking up the mountain to enjoy the surprisingly boisterous Cunningham Falls, or spending a weekend camping.

One of the best trails in the park.

The rock formation is easy to climb and the view is great.

Lots of family's lot of couples and single individuals have a great time.

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes/boots.

ONE DAY TRIP IDEA

Visit the Cunningham Falls State Park Catoctin Furnace and enjoy a great day with friends and family. The trail to falls is good- an easy walk, then you can choose a more difficult walk. Near the falls are the lake and beach. Fantastic for families, couples, bring your dog/dogs. There is a covered area with a little food shop. You can also visit Catoctin Wildlife Preserve. The Catoctin Wildlife Preserve is a 100-acre zoo and wildlife preserve features safari truck rides that let visitors touch and feed large herbivores in a wooded setting.

CAMPING

Manor Area Campground is the place to go if you're planning to stay in a place that is surrounded by nature. Nice campsites. Free entrance to the other park areas. Bathrooms could be nicer/cleaner. It's a nice and clean place to camp.

April 30th to October 14th is the best time to explore Cunningham Falls State Park because most of the attractions at the park are open and can be enjoyed by visitors, such as the campgrounds, trails, and swimming pool.

BEST RESTAURANTS

Enjoy some delicious foods at Mountain Gate Family Restaurant. This is my family’s all-time favorite restaurant! Love the atmosphere, the country home cooking, and the large array of desserts. Lots of options in hot and cold veggies, meats, fish, and a boatload of desserts. Thurmont Kountry Kitchen is another recommended restaurant. Nice little place off the road, good value for the price, and well-kept establishment. Try the apple cinnamon pancakes, the mushroom cheeseburger, the Philly cheesesteak, and some sides - all were tasty!

Lots of options in hot and cold veggies, meats, fish, and a boatload of desserts.

The breakfast buffet is great and the staff is always nice.

Large menu, basically country cooking, big portions and priced very fair.

Ten Thousand Villages is maybe the nearest and the only souvenir shop around the Cunningham Falls State Park. Here you can get interesting items and handicrafts from the locals. Amazing gifts from around the world! The store staff is courteous and helpful!
