Lost Maples State Natural Area is a large and beautiful area of beautiful hills and canyons above the Sabinal River in the Edwards Plateau Region in Texas.

This area is designated as a Natural Area, not a State Park, which means the main focus is the maintenance and protection of the natural state of the property.

Lost Maples are known for their autumn colors, but are spectacular throughout the year.

There is a high volume of visitors during weekends and holidays in the fall. Visit for a week or order a Day Pass to guarantee entry.

SIGHTSEEING

The park features many Edwards Plateau plants and animals. Lost Maples have canyons, springs, steep and steep plateaus, forested slopes, and clear streams. A maximum of six people can camp on each site; every primitive area has many sites. Hiking and rock climbing are not allowed. Pets are permitted with a leash; Take and dispose of pet waste properly.
