Prison break, blues brothers or history buffs Very neat piece of history to check out. The only downside is because of vandals the majority of the prison interior is off limits.

Lots of barbed wire Went to the prison for a visit. All reservations online, with timed entry. Liz, reservation person, information person, gift shop person, helpful, lovely person greeted us by name when we arrived.

Joliet Prison/ Fox River As keen Blues Brothers and Prison Break series fans whilst staying in Chicago we had to visit this place. It is an hour and a half by train from Chicago then a 5 minute bus ride.
