Miyazaki Japanese Garden in United States

Could use some more inspiration My review may be very biased, after having spent 8 years in Japan. This garden is pretty, but it is a far cry from what I would call "Japanese".

Small but attractive I visited this Japanese garden in VA Beach while visiting the larger Red Wing Park. It is quite small and might take up to fifteen minutes at most to visit, if you are walking very slowly and thoughtfully.

Beautiful hidden taste of a beautiful culture My family and I caught wind of the Cherry Blossom festival on a spur of the moment trip to Virginia Beach and decided to check it out.

Red Wing Park is a 97-acre park that was developed in 1966 by the city as a family, general-use park. The property was acquired by the county in 1879 and was formerly known as the "Old City Poor Farm." Red Wing Park is home to many gardens, including the Reba S. McClanan Fragrance Garden, established through the joint efforts of Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation and the Council of Garden Clubs of Virginia Beach, and the Miyazaki Japanese Garden.
