Morris-Jumel Mansion in United States

Fascinating History! The mansion is the oldest house in Manhattan and was built in 1765. It sits high up on a hill overlooking the Harlem River. Some believe that the mansion is haunted.

“Reliving The Past” We visited the museum on a school trip as part of a NYC and the five boroughs history lesson for school. It was nice to walk in the steps of some of the country’s famous forefathers.

so interesting Fantastic, there's not a lot to see inside by the way of exhibits but our excellent docent brought all the history of the house and the surrounding area to life.

Manhattan's oldest house, somewhat of an aberration in the modern neighborhood of Washington Heights, served as a command post for George Washington.
